Team Girl Series

Eile and Sunny are two adventurous twenty-something girls who met when Eile rescued Sunny from being kidnapped by enemies of her parents. They fell in love, and after the crisis had been resolved they decided to live together. Sunny was still in danger, so their mentor, Medb hErenn, acquired a house for them in a secure gated community. She gave them the run of the place, but there was one room, in the basement, that was off limits. That didn't sit well with Sunny, who burned with curiosity to discover what the mysterious room contained. When she and Eile finally gained access by accident, they discovered that they shared the house with a secret and rather unusual roommate....

When Eile was turned into a vampire, her partner Sunny and their mentor Medb hErenn moved heaven and earth to find a cure, with the help of their nemesis, Dr. Mabuse. Unfortunately, that was not the end of her ordeal. She must now come to terms with what she did, and find a way to assuage the terrible guilt she feels concerning what she did, despite the fact that she had no control over her actions.

Every Christmas Eve, Eile and Sunny of Team Girl spend the day at Pastor Sjauken's homeless shelter for single mothers and their children, preparing and serving meals, handing out presents, and generally helping everyone to make merry. In their own way, they like to remind his charges that miracles can happen. But tonight they will be involved in another miracle, as a force greater than themselves manipulates them without their knowledge, only this time it could mean the difference between life and death.

Connie, the eight-year-old daughter of Eile and Sunny of Team Girl, is fed up. Her parents pay more attention to her sister Liza than they do her. She concludes they don't love her anymore and she decides to run away. She wants to become special, to teach them all a lesson, so she goes to Giovanna Borgia, a vampire and one of Team Girl's best friends, and asks her to make her a vampire. Giovanna invites her to attend a vampire Christmas party in a nearby cemetery, and there she meets Angela, a child vampire her same age. They strike up an unlikely friendship, and Connie learns what it means to be a vampire, the bad as well as the good. However, a group of vampire hunters decides to crash the party, and they have targeted Connie and Angela for extermination.

About a year before they met in the real world and became Team Girl, Eile Chica and Sunny Hiver played an online role-playing game called Otherworld, a more family-friendly version of World of Warcraft and other such games. Eile had created the fighter and thief Braveheart, whereas Sunny played a magic-user named White-Lion. They met while independently exploring a lost temple of evil, became friends and partners, and adventured together afterwards. This is one of their sessions. They broke into the country villa of a powerful count to steal whatever they could, but were caught. Rather than have them hung, he "hired" them to rescue his young wife, who had been kidnapped by a dragon. However, the mission won't be as simple as it sounds, because a previous rescue attempt went seriously wrong, and now the Girls have to clean up the resulting mess. If they can.

Before they met in person, Eile and Sunny spent many hours together playing the online role playing game Otherworld as the fighter/thief Braveheart and the magic-user White-Lion. This is another of their sessions. The Devourer is the pagan god of a tribe of wild savages, who worship it in the form of a giant stone idol. Placed in the center of its face is a large gem that represents its single eye. Many adventurers have tried to steal that gem, but all have failed, and most were killed by the tribe, or offered as sacrifices to their god. Braveheart and White-Lion, Team Girl, decide to attempt it. After all, it seems so simple; they can't understand why no one else has succeeded. They are about to find out.

A long time ago, Differel Van Helsing met and fell in love with Victor Plunkett, a diplomat with HM Foreign Office. She married him and bore him a son, but he was killed by an assassin that had targeted her and their child. She grieved for many years and refused to marry anyone else, but when she learned how to Dream, she discovered that he had "retired" to the Dreamlands and become the Marquis of Elissa, an archipelago of islands controlled by the Kingdom of Punica. They remarried, and while she can only be with him when she Dreams, she is content for the first time in decades. Her love for him is so great that she would sacrifice her life to save him, but will also kill anyone who threatens him. As such, when he was kidnapped and held for ransom, she decided to rescue him rather than pay, with the help of her BFFs, Eile and Sunny of Team Girl. She has vowed that the kidnappers, whoever they are, will pay the ultimate price, but if he is unharmed she might be merciful. Maybe. In the Bonus Story, Differel and Team Girl pursue a pair of shapeshifting predators that are preying on Dreamers. But how can they find creatures that can look like anyone, including themselves?

Dr. Mabuse has figured out a way to pierce the dimensional barriers between parallel universes and open portals onto alternative Earths. When she finds such a world, she hires Eile and Sunny to perform a preliminary, 24-hour investigation, based on their experience with their adventuring company Team Girl Inc., their special ops missions for Lt. Gen. Morgan Leia Ross, and their time in the Dreamlands. Based on their report, Mabuse and her sponsor Medb will decide whether to perform more in-depth investigations, with an eye towards possible exploitation. These initial investigations can be hazardous, but in this case their danger stems from a case of mistaken identity, when they are confused with their in-world counterparts. Then this resemblance is ruthlessly exploited when they are blackmailed into playing decoy for them. They have no choice, not if they hope to get home in one piece. They just hope their latest adventure doesn't get them both killed.
