About this series

Irish Mythology and Modern Multi-universe theory meet in an exciting humorus adventure involving Dinosaur raptors and travel across time-lines.

“Hi Kate.”
“Hi Danu.”
“Tonight we will learn how to use the serpent jewel. Please pick it up. Tonight you will learn its true purpose.”

Kate picked up the two-inch long jewel and held it in the palm of her hand.
“Don’t be afraid,” Danu said and added, ‘Snakes slither silently, slippery, secretly.’”

Kate’s jaw dropped when the jewel began to lengthen, becoming thinner and more sinuous. It crept up the palm of her hand and began to encircle her wrist in a spiral.
“It’s a very pretty bangle,” Kate said, admiring her arm as it settled into position.

Danu smiled pleased Kate was so calm.
“Yes,” she agreed. “And it will give you the gift of tongues.”
“Tongues?”
“Languages Kate. In the future Kate, when you meet someone or something that doesn’t speak English...”
“Something?” Kate interjected with a frown.

Kate is sent on a rescue mission amongst evolved modern Raptor Dinosaurs.

This book incorporates book one and two of Thomas Kennedy's 'Irish American Fantasy series'. Irish Mythology, Egyptian Pharaohs and modern multi-universe theories mix in this exciting, humorous adventure. When Olaf, king of the Orang-utan sells Kate and her brother to the Raptors for major banannas, their attempt to rescue Conchobar becomes fraught. But when the Raptors find their way into the Egyptian time-line, planning to sell humans to gourmet restaurants, Kate has to act. Not to mention the complications caused when Lana's Jamaxian aunt accidently puts an Obeah love spell on straightlaced Mr. Harrington and worse... The story line provides many instances of contrasting values and humour in different possible worlds.

The Chicago Princess is a story that moves from a time of Irish folklore to modern-day Chicago. The mix of this mythological Irish background with contemporary American life is one of the novel’s strengths and provides many instances of humour and contrast. It follows the adventures of Fionnuala, a beautiful princess transformed into the ugliest women imaginable by the druid Lochlain, before being sent into the future. In modern Chicago, she encounters madcap characters, such as the crafty Patience, who uses Fionnuala’s powers to make money gambling, and implicates them in gang warfare. She is hunted down by the magical characters from her past, who are searching for the mythological Salmon of Knowledge. In between she is also targeted by the police as a suspect in a terrorist case, and is on a mission to regain her former beauty by finding and receiving a kiss from her one true love. The tone moves from the seriousness of the prologue to something altogether quicker and more irreverent as the novel progresses.
