Travis d'Arnaud homered for the 5th time in his last 8 at-bats, a two-run shot off the foul pole to spark a three-run third inning, and that would be all Bryce Elder needed to lead the Atlanta Braves past the Miami Marlins 3-0 on Monday in Atlanta. The Marlins got to Elder right away, with back-to-back singles from Luis Arraez and Bryan De La Cruz and a double from Jazz Chisholm, Jr., to start the game, but Arraez was thrown out at home plate on Chisolm's double, then Josh Bell and Jesus Sanchez each flew out to end the threat. From there, the Marlins scattered seven hits but weren't able to get that one big hit that would lead to a big inning. Ryan Weathers pitched very well for Miami, allowing three earned runs- all in the 4th- in 5 2/3 innings. Weathers gave up six hits and walked three, three and two of which came in that fourth inning. The Marlins still haven't won two games in a row this season.
