On this episode, Lil Iguana's Children's Safety Foundation's, Erica shares how their foundation works to teach children the best safety practices, the history of Lil Iguana, the importance of discussing "stranger danger" with young children, teaching kids about the 'harm alarm', and the need for social emotional development.⁠
The Lil' Iguana's Children's Safety Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit foundation that educates and empowers children to be safe, happy, and healthy through music-based programs and resources. Through our programs and resources for home and classroom use, we strive to instill essential life-saving lessons, promote positive social interactions, nurture literacy, and foster a culture of safety and well-being in communities. With over 20 safety and well-being lessons like stranger danger, seatbelt safety, online safety, friendship, and SEL we aim to prevent abduction, trafficking, abuse, and serious accidental injuries while empowering children to lead safe and fulfilling lives.

For 2024, we kicked off our reading challenge which is centered on Lil' Iguana's read along storybook, "A Gift from the Heart" which not only nurtures literacy and a joyful reading experience for children, but promotes essential life skills with themes of manners, handwashing, permission, safety, kindness, and friendship.
This dynamic program ignites a passion for reading among children while leveraging technology to enhance the learning experience. With synchronized narration and page turns, children can follow along with the words, enhancing their understanding of pronunciation, word recognition, and storytelling. This platform encourages children to explore the nuances of language and develop essential reading skills in an enjoyable and accessible manner.
⁠Homeschool Yo Kids Podcast shares organic conversations that promote confidence, a growth mindset, and are filled with inspiration and good energy. Sharing stories from the classroom, their home learning journey, and other reflections and life experiences, come grow and learn with Jae.
Homeschool Yo Kids Organization is a 501c3 nonprofit that provides families with tools to aid unconventional learning experiences, helping to create a positive home learning environment.
