Description

Police PTSD Trauma Aftermath of Police Career-Ending Injury. A powerful interview with retired Nashville Metro Police Lieutenant Joe Towers, who devoted over two decades of his life to serving his community as a dedicated law enforcement officer. In this revealing episode, Joe candidly shares the truths of policing in America, recounting his career, filled with the constant presence of violence, danger, and trauma.
His journey took a profound turn when he experienced a career-ending injury, one that significantly impacted not only his physical health but also his emotional well-being. Joe reflects on the arduous process of rediscovering his identity beyond the badge, a transformation necessitated by the disability he incurred. Compounding this challenge was the fact that his wife, also a police officer, faced her own career-ending injury, intensifying the complexity of their shared struggle. Joe's career spanned 27 years, with 25 of those years dedicated to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. He served in various roles, including patrol, bicycle patrol, narcotics, and as a SWAT team member. Additionally, he supervised investigations as a detective sergeant and detective lieutenant. Prior to his law enforcement career, Joe served in the United States Coast Guard, both on active duty and in the reserves. Police PTSD Trauma Aftermath of Police Career-Ending Injury.

This nonprofit organization orchestrates therapeutic hunting expeditions year-round, providing a sanctuary for healing and camaraderie. It is not merely about the thrill of the hunt but about offering unwavering support and a sense of hope to those who have bravely served our nation.
