About our Guest: Dr. Shannon W. McPherson
Dr. Shannon W. McPherson is a highly trained and experienced high school science teacher. She has had twenty-six years of teaching in a wide variety of sciences, including chemistry, advanced placement environmental science, anatomy and physiology, biology, medical microbiology, and pathophysiology. She has also been an adjunct faculty member at a local community college, teaching anatomy and physiology to pre-nursing students. She has taught thousands of students at various levels, which attests to her passion, drive, trustworthiness, and love for her students.

Before teaching, Dr. McPherson was a chiropractor with a growing practice after graduating as salutatorian of her class. While growing her practice, she spent her spare time volunteering at her son’s school. During this time, she realized she had missed her calling due to the joy she felt every day as an educator. She pursued and achieved alternative certification to teach science, a field severely lacking teachers. She hasn't looked back since.

A mother of three grown children and a whole pack of grand dogs, she is married and lives outside Houston, Texas. She loves plants, animals, books, writing, and, of course, teaching

Follow her on her website and blog as she faces a potential transition in her career and continues to share her experiences through the written word.
