Description

EP029: Many people assume gossip is inherently bad - something to feel guilty about. But I disagree. I don't think gossip is wrong in itself. In fact, I believe the stigma around gossip exists to serve the interests of those in power by trying to undermine communication and solidarity among marginalized groups, especially women.Think about it - when was the last time you heard the term "gossip" used to describe MEN talking? The word gossip is almost always applied exclusively to conversations between women. And I don't think that negative connotation is an accident. On this episode, we're going to make a case for why women shouldn't feel guilty about gossiping. We'll break it down into 5 key reasons why gossip among women can actually be a positive force - everything from building social bonds to sharing important information that protects community interests including statistics and history. So get ready to rethink your assumptions:) Topics:  ⁃  Why gossip helps us establish our beliefs  ⁃  Gossip helps us process and learn  ⁃  The importance of intention  ⁃  Why gossip is specifically good for women  ⁃  The countless proof throughout history and throughout my personal life  ⁃  Gossiping is a form of activism If you would enjoy today’s episode please send it to someone who would benefit from listening!SUBSCRIBE HERE -  https://www.youtube.com/@madibwebbINSTAGRAM -https://www.instagram.com/madibwebb/TIKTOK - https://www.tiktok.com/@madibwebb?lan.... SNAPCHAT - https://www.snapchat.com/add/madibwebbTHREADS -  https://www.threads.net/@madibwebb?ig...Email questions, ask advice, tell your story, etc to InBedPodcast@madibwebb.com Hosted on Acast.
