Description

Chris Carter, NFL and NCAAF analyst, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast, is joined by Joshuah Taylor of KDKA-TV and 93.7 The Fan.Rumors suggest the Pittsburgh Steelers should consider finding a way to get Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, but doing so would be mistake. Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert should stay far away from Mayfield, but there are smarter trade options to move up in the NFL Draft to get their quarterback without giving up too many picks. Desmond Ridder is a real target who could be available in the late first round or earlier in the second round, and trading up from the Steelers' second round pick at 52 would be a lot cheaper than trading up to be higher than their first round pick at 20.But with 2022 quarterbacks like Ridder, Malik Willis, Kenny Pickett, Sam Howell, and Matt Corral, some feel like the Steelers should take a shot on one of them in the first round and not wait until finding a quarterback of the future in the 2023 NFL Draft with Bryce Young, C.J. Stroud, Brennan Armstrong and others. But could waiting for them backfire if they aren't as talented as they're projected to be?Also, are people overlooking a real first round option in Michigan safety Daxton Hill? He's a free safety/slot cornerback who could be a true versatile weapon on defense, but how would he measure up vs. Kyle Hamilton, Lewis Cine or Jaquan Brisker as a safety partner for Minkah Fitzpatrick?CALL INTO THE SHOW AT 412-223-6644 or if international, e-mail your audio message to LOSTEELERSTOPICBAG@GMAIL.COMFollow Chris Carter on Twitter: @CarterCritiques.Theme music is 'Soul Kick' by Ceddy P, and 'Too Easy' by Nerdboy.
