He practiced on individual drills by himself, much like T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick did before their big contracts. But that's not a big deal, as Mike Tomlin explained after practice.But there were big plays during practice from the Steelers' two rookie wide receivers in George Pickens and Calvin Austin III. Pickens made a deep reception from Mitch Trubisky for a big play and Austin took a wide receiver screen for a 61-yard touchdown from Mason Rudolph. Neither felt satisfied after practice, as Mike Tomlin said he wasn't going to "crown" either of them for their plays. But those moments showed the big play potential for the rookies.Also, Mason Rudolph and Kenny Pickett worked with Trubisky. Rudolph had the best day to start camp, but that doesn't move the needle yet in the quarterback battle.Also, Damontae Kazee was seen taking the replacement reps at safety for Minkah Fitzpatrick.
