Description

The first release of All-Star voting is always a fun day in the NBA, especially for two guys who are not at all precious about who gets in or who might not (like say the hosts of this show). So seeing Carmelo Anthony cracking the top 10 among Western Conference forwards despite not playing at an All Star level? Whatever! If that's what the fans want, all good. Frankly, it's disappointing to see that Lakers fans couldn't give Austin Reaves the Alex Caruso treatment, and push him into the Top 10 among W.C. guards.Bigger Issue: Russell Westbrook (due to play) and Anthony Davis (due to availability) may not be on the team. And for a squad built around All Stars, that helps explain why the Lakers have been mired around .500 all year. From there, Frank Vogel and Dwight Howard talked about sacrifice as more guys come back to the roster. There will be guys currently playing significant roles who will have to sit as Kendrick Nunn, Stanley Johnson, and (eventually) Davis are all brought back into the rotation. It'll make things go much more smoothly if the team can win games while this happens. Finally, LeBron James responded to questions about Kevin Porter Jr., and Wednesday's moment at the end of the Houston/Wizards game, where Washington's analyst committed a horrible error calling Porter Jr.'s game winning shot. It was a fascinating moment, where LeBron laid out why that mistake mattered so much. Much of it was centered around media accountability and professionalism. Hard to argue with any of it.HOSTS: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT 1: On All-Star voting. What it says about the Lakers this season, 'Melo and more!SEGMENT 2: Frank Vogel has some big issues to figure out with the rotation. Plus, LeBron on media accountability.SEGMENT 3: More from James on why it matters that Kevin Porter Jr. was wronged.Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
