Description

So... uh... what the hell happened Sunday afternoon in Detroit?Well, to begin, the Lakers won 121-116, which is obviously the most important detail. But along way... wow. You had the Lakers allow a horrific offensive Pistons squad score SIXTY-EIGHT (68) first half points. You had LeBron James getting ejected after hitting Isaiah Stewart in the face with a rough (if truly inadvertent) elbow to the face, followed by Stewart needing to be held back by roughly 1000 people for around twenty minutes before play resumed. You had the Lakers starting the fourth quarter down 15 to a (then) 4-11 opponent. And finally, you had Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook leading a fourth quarter blitz to get the Lakers a desperately needed win. (Or just avoid a horribly embarrassing loss. However you wanna put it.)After the win, DeAndre Jordan and other players framed the comeback and its context as a potential galvanizer for the season moving forward. Is that even possible, much less realistic? And as long as the future is being discussed, does Davis, rather than Westbrook or LeBron need to be the Lakers' clear cut best player for them to become championship-caliber. Andy thinks so, and explains why.Hosts: Andy and Brian KamenetzkySEGMENT ONE: What to make of this very strange afternoon? And can the win galvanize the Lakers through what's been a season-long struggle?SEGMENT TWO: Did LeBron deserve an ejection? And what percentage of the team's issues are actually fixable, given their roster flaws?SEGMENT THREE: Does Davis, rather than LeBron, need to be the Lakers' best player in order for them to win a championship?Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!Built BarBuilt Bar is a protein bar that tastes like a candy bar.
