With the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers out of the NFL playoffs, the New Orleans Saints should take the time to get a look at offensive coordinators Eric Bieniemy and Mike McDaniel as possible heirs to Sean Payton's head coaching position.Eric Bienemy has a significant connection to the Saints as a New Orleans native, but also as a wildly successful offensive coordinator. His usage of Jerrick McKinnon feels easily translatable to Alvin Kamara, but would the right quarterback be willing to come along to produce? That may be a deciding factor when it comes to Bieniemy opportunities.Mike McDaniel may be a lesser known entity, but his name continues to heat up as a finalist for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching spot. His wide zone run scheme would be familiar to the Saints as constructed along with his west coast passing offense, Scheming successfully for both Jimmy Garappolo and Trey Lance shows his ability to adjust to different quarterbacking styles, which could prove useful as the Saints decide between Taysom Hill, Jameis Winston, or other potential QBs. All of that, plus his scheming ability with Deebo Samuel which may be translatable to Alvin Kamara or other weapons make for an exciting resume for the young OC.North Carolina QB Sam Howell, Southern Alabama WR Jalen Tolbert, and Central Michigan OL Bernhard Rainmann will all pull focus at this week's Senior Bowl in Mobile, AL.
