Jets Draft Strategy Thoughts Episode 840 4/6/20: With free agency now mostly behind us, the focus turns to the 2020 NFL Draft. There are always a handful of late offseason signings, cuts, and trades. Generally speaking, though, the Draft is the last opportunity most teams have to improve their roster for the upcoming season. I would say this year's Draft is very important for the Jets, but the Draft is always important. This will be Joe Douglas' first one running the Jets. He, of course, was hired after last year's Draft. The Jets are currently a team short on young talent, which helps to explain their long postseason drought. Notes From Locker Clean Out Day Episode 773 12/31/19: The Jets closed up shop yesterday. Players came in to clean out their lockers as the 2019 season has ended. Many of the players and Adam Gase spoke to the media. We will discuss what they said on today's podcast. Most of the attention from Adam Gase's media availability focused on cryptic comments he made regarding Le'Veon Bell's future. While Gase probably could have handled the question better, the reaction was also likely overblown. More noteworthy was Gase stating he is making no changes to the coaching staff. While he could change his mind, this is an interesting development. The coaches on special teams and defense acquitted themselves very well this season. The offense was a different story, although I don't think this news is necessarily awful. It depends on whether the coaches learn and make the necessary changes.
