As cities try to cope with crime across the country, those efforts are being hindered by the nationwide police shortage. In Louisiana, the problem is bad Governor Landry has recently declared a state of emergency to address his state’s severe law enforcement recruitment problem.
Earlier this week, Retired NYPD Inspector and FOX News contributor Paul Mauro joined host Lisa Brady on the FOX News Rundown to discuss what’s causing this officer shortage and potential solutions to their problem.
Mauro also reacted to Police departments who have had to lower recruitment standards in an attempt to drum up interest in becoming a cop.
