Bob Murtaugh, DVM, MS, joined Thrive Pet Healthcare in 2015 as chief medical officer. In his current role as chief professional relations officer, Murtaugh is responsible for developing strategies to further establish and coordinate Thrive’s meaningful partnerships with veterinary schools, including residency and internship programs. He is a board-certified veterinary emergency and critical care specialist and a board-certified specialist in veterinary internal medicine. He is a pioneer in specialty veterinary medicine and paved the way for emergency and critical care to become an American Veterinary Medical Association–recognized specialty in 1989.
