He held a significant association with the afterlife and is one of the earliest known ancient Egyptian gods. In addition to serving as a protector of the necropolis, Anubis played a crucial role in the weighing of the heart ceremony. In this ceremony, the deceased's heart was weighed on a scale against the feather of Ma'at, representing truth and cosmic order. Horus of Behdet - A celestial form of Horus depicted as a winged sun disk.
