Damon and Damo are joined on this episode by PSC Soledad “Sol” Arcefuentes. Sol and Damo met at the Senior Enlisted Academy, and she came to kick it with the fellas and talk some Navy stuff. Damon opens the episode with a personal story about his son, who is now out of boot camp and stationed at his first command. Damon talks about assisting him during his travel as he is in a school for his rating.  Damo recognizes his first ship, USS Vella Gulf (CG-72), as she was decommissioned on 4 August 2022. What is monkeypox? We don’t have the answers, but we have a whole lot of questions. Is it too early to be concerned about this? How would you want to go out, zombie apocalypse or Robot takeover? The word “soft” gets thrown around a lot in today’s time. The trio discuss the word. Should a Warrant Officer sit in on a CPO ranking board? The commissary is testing out a doorstep deliver service. Sounds cool. Condolences to the family of Seaman David L. Spearman who died at sea this earlier this month. Since Sol is a PSC, Damo felt it was only right to bring up pay issues. How is it that a service member can go four months without pay? Damon talks Senior Enlisted Advance To Position and the Senior Enlisted Optimization Plan. This turns into a conversation about impact statements. A Navy Lieutenant is serving 3 years in a Japanese prison due to a traffic accident that left two dead.
