Description

Histamine Intolerance is one of the much lesser-known symptoms of menopause and I am delighted to welcome Dr Anisha Patel onto this week's episode. Anita has been diagnosed with bowel cancer herself and shares not only her personal story but also many nuggets from her professional experience as a GP with a special interest in women’s health.A key takeaway for me from speaking to Anisha was that all things take time. Time to unfold and understand. So, if you are feeling a little frustrated that you might not have found solutions or help in managing your menopausal symptoms as quickly as you’d hoped, then I hope today’s episode will show that even if you’re a doctor and even if you’re a doctor who is married to another doctor, it takes some time to put two and two together! You can find Dr Anisha Patel on Instagram: @doctorsgetcancertooHere's Dr Anisha Patel’s book: everything you hoped you’d never need to know about bowel cancerHistamine Intolerance resources shared by Dr Patel:https://www.newsonhealth.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Histamine-Intolerance-v21-03.pdfhttps://balance-menopause.com/uploads/2021/09/Histamine-Intolerance-1.pdfhttps://drbeckycampbell.com/menopause-and-histamine-intolerance-connection/About Dani:The Menopause and Cancer Podcast is hosted by Dani Binnington, menopause guide, patients advocate for people in menopause after a cancer diagnosis, and founder of the online platform Healthy Whole Me. There is lots of information out there about the menopause but hardly any if you have had a cancer diagnosis as well. Many people say to me they have no idea what their options are, who to ask for help, and that they feel really isolated in their experiences. I started this podcast because there was nothing out there when I was thrown into surgical menopause at the age of 39, which followed on from my cancer diagnosis aged 33.Through the episodes, I want to create more awareness, share information from our fabulous guest experts, doctors and other specialists in the cancer and menopause field. And of course, I will share stories from the people in our community. So that together we can work towards a better menopause experience. For all of us.More educated, better informed and less alone.Connect with Dani:Instagram @healthywholeme  Facebook: @healthywholeme  Join Dani’s private Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/menopauseandcancerchathubFor oodles of inspiration, healthy recipes, yoga classes and all round positivity go to her website: https://www.healthywholeme.com/

Has cancer treatment led you to early menopause? Do you feel confused about your options? This podcast hosts conversations with cancer patients, survivors and medical professionals to learn about treatments available for women with a cancer diagnosis.  I’m Dani Binnington, after breast cancer, surgery to remove my ovaries led me to early menopause, I had no idea what my treatment options were and who in my medical team could help me figure out what to do about my symptoms. I felt alone and unsupported. It took me so long to discover I had lots of options too. If only I’d known sooner! Everything I wish I’d known back then is inside these conversations - so you can make the right choices now.  These episodes are a good place to start: 1. Rethinking Tamoxifen & Aromatase Inhibitors  2. Why I decided to take HRT after an oestrogen driven cancer 2. Alcohol & Me Menopause and cancer is also a thriving community online and in real life.  Join the Facebook community to connect with women going through the same thing you are: https://www.facebook.com/groups/menopauseandcancerchathub
