The Creighton Blue Jays fumbled a huge opportunity to pick up a road win over Shaka Smart and the Marquette Golden Eagles, instead losing their third game out of the last four. Steven Ashworth and Trey Alexander combined to go 2-10 from three and Ryan Kalkbrenner only got seven shot attempts, which has us wondering if Creighton is truly in trouble or just on a small skid.
Gonzaga took an incredibly rare home loss to San Diego State on Friday, pushing them to 0-4 in Quad 1 games with only three potential Q1 opportunities left - including a true road game against Kentucky in February. Is Mark Few's team in real danger of not making the NCAA Tournament if they don't win the WCC? Their resume is an issue in part because two of their wins - USC and UCLA - have aged poorly with both the Trojans and Bruins struggling in a major way.
