Description

Join the free ARE Workshop on April 5, 2023 12 pm(PT) HEREWatch the video here.Harp Cosgrove is originally from Central California, attended Fresno City College and transferred to NewSchool of Architecture and Design in San Diego, CA. During her time at NewSchool she had the opportunity to intern with RadLab and The MillerHull Partnership and later graduated with her Bachelor’s of Architecture. Following graduation, she worked with Architects HGW before moving to Philadelphia, PA. During her time in Philadelphia Harp really found her voice and place in architecture. She began her licensure journey while working with BRR Architecture and would go on to complete nearly all her ARE exams while there. Some unexpected life events led to Harp and her husband, Bill, to move back to her hometown in Fresno, CA a couple of years after starting their life in Philadelphia. After settling into their new life and welcoming their daughter, Harp resumed her journey to licensure as a new mom. With the added additional California Supplemental Exam, being a stay-at-home mom, and living in a new place, the path to licensure changed from being a collaborative effort to an isolated one. After completing her ARE exams Harp posted an open letter of encouragement for any other new moms (or parents!) finding themselves feeling like she did during her final exams. NCARB reached out to her to speak on her experience and Harp was so proud to shed some light on how different the licensure experience can be when it overlaps with major life events. You can read her article here. Since then Harp has completed her CSE and received her Architect’s License in California. Connect with Harp on LinkedIn or Instagram @har_preetSupport the showOur free ARE Community is NOW LIVE!
