Description

This time in our longform weekend podcast - Glenn runs down the legal stories of the week. First, Donald Trump said during Sean Hannity's interview - if he's elected - he'll be a dictator on day one. Even worse, he just put something in a new court filing in his criminal case in DC that indicates he also intends to act like a dictator in his criminal case - deciding legal issues himself rather than waiting for or abiding by legal issues as decided by Judge Tanya Chutkan. According to Glenn - this is a new level of danger Trump is injecting into the mix. Then, Judge Chutkan rules that presidents are not kings, and therefore are NOT absolutely immune from prosecution for their crimes. Glenn says her work is masterful and inspirational. Next, we now know that former Vice President Mike Pence is on the prosecution's witness list in Trump's Georgia state RICO case. Glenn discusses how Mike Pence's testimony will bring the criminal heat to Trump. Then finally, a new Jack Smith court filing reveals how one of Trump's "campaign employees/co-conspirators" attempted to start a "riot" at the Detroit, Michigan, vote-counting center on Nov. 4, 2020, once he saw the count was trending for Joe Biden. Glenn talks about how this co-conspirator statement will actually be sharply incriminating evidence at Trump's criminal trial in Washington DC. Judge Chutkan's written opinion is important reading, and may help reinforce (or restore) the public's confidence in the rule of law.Link to Judge Chutkan's ruling here:https://ecf.dcd.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/...If you're interested in supporting our all-volunteer efforts and mission, you can becoming a Team Justice patron at:https://www.patreon.com/glennkirschnerFor our Team Justice and Justice Matters merchandise visit:https://shop.spreadshirt.com/glennkir...Check out Glenn's website at glennkirschner.comFollow Glenn on:Threads: https://www.threads.net/glennkirschner2Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/glennkirschner2Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glennkirschner2Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/glennkirsch...See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
