Samantha Koenig vanished from a small coffee shop in Anchorage, Alaska on February 1, 2012. Despite surveillance video that showed she was held at gunpoint before being taken, authorities thought it was a sham and that Samantha would be back on her own. 

They were wrong. Samantha had been kidnapped. It would take 3 full weeks for this fact to become crystal clear.
