April 14, 2019 - On this Passion Sunday we are given the scripture from Hebrews 9 describing Jesus Christ as our eternal Great High Priest. But to understand what St. Paul is teaching, we must go back to one of the major Feast Days of the Old Covenant; the Day of Atonement. By looking at the High Priests actions on the Day of Atonement and the sacrifice commanded by God, we see that even in the Old Covenant God was showing Himself to be a God of limitless mercy. How much more do we see the mercy of God eternally being granted through our Great High Priest, Jesus Christ?
