Description

Tarja Turunen is a Finnish classical and heavy metal vocalist who is most known for being the former singer for Symphonic metal band Nightwish. After her departure from Nightwish in 2006, Tarja focused on her solo career that combined elements from classical, metal and rock music. Her first solo album 'Henkäys ikuisuudesta' (2004) was inspired by Christmas, and in 2017 she released'From Spirits and Ghosts (Score for a Dark Christmas)'. Her latest album Dark Christmas (2023) continues this trend of her dark, gothic interpretations of Christmas classics. We spoke with Tarja about her favorite Christmas memory, creepy children's choirs, music saving her in dark times, the other side of Christmas, and a lot more! Interview by: Robin Hignell Support the showThank you for listening!
