Iowa Hawkeyes football coach Kirk Ferentz should be considered Big 10 Coach of the Year for the magic trick he's pulling off. His Hawkeyes have a one game lead in the Big 10 West with three games to go and a trip to the Big 10 Championship Game on the line. 
He's winning games without a starting quarterback and his top two tight ends. Plus, his receivers have caught a mere two touchdown passes this year. In a sport that demands a high-powered offense he doesn't have one at all. In fact, his most valuable player may be his punter Tory Taylor. (Or defensive back Cooper DeJean!) Never the less, Ferentz has won 7 games so far with smoke and mirrors or really good coaching. It's like his team is from another era. 
Plus, as always, there is Michigan football news. Michigan formally responded to the Big 10 and their threat to punish the school and coach Jim Harbaugh for SpyGate.  And alleged SpyGate mastermind Connor Stalions has reportedly used running back Blake Corum's name to set up an LLC. Corum just found out and has handed things over to his lawyer.
