Friends of the Rosary:
Every October 28th we celebrate the Feast of the glorious Apostles Saints Simon the Zealot and Jude Thaddeus.
They may be paired together because they both preached the Gospel in Mesopotamia and Persia.
St. Simon the Zealot is represented in art with a saw, the instrument of his martyrdom.
St. Jude Thadeus is the author of a short Epistle which forms part of the New Testament.
He is invoked in desperate situations and impossible and lost causes because his letter stresses that the faithful should persevere in the environment of harsh, difficult circumstances.
