It’s all about Power Trip, this weekend’s massive hard rock festival cranking up at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, CA. Gracing the bill of the three-day fest are Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Judas Priest, Tool, and, of course, Metallica.
It’s hard to imagine now, but Metallica wasn’t always on the poster, let alone at the top! James reflects on the band’s festival journey and what it’s felt like to “move up the ladder.”
Lars recounts 2016’s Desert Trip, the festival featuring legends like Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan that inspired this weekend’s hard rock event. He addresses his admiration for his Power Trip co-headliners and his excitement to get this group of bands in one place. And finally, he touches on his relationship with Guns N’ Roses over the decades and how, yes… he would like to hang out with Axl over a cup of tea!
