On today's Western Conference Tuesday edition of Locked on NHL, we discuss surprise teams and disappointments through the first week of the NHL Season. We start with the Vancouver Canucks, who beat Edmonton two straight times to start the season, with big performances from Brock Boeser and Elias Petterson, as well as great goaltending. We discuss the Chicago Blackhawks, who are getting good play from Connor Bedard as expected, but also getting great production from Corey Perry and others to help him out. We also discuss Arizona beating New Jersey to start the season, which is a great start to the year in a season where they hope to be in the playoff conversation at the end of the year. We discuss the goaltending issues for both Edmonton and Los Angeles, as well as the scoring drought so far from Seattle. The assumption is that these will all correct themselves soon, but it is worrisome to see them as issues considering those were areas that needed to be addressed before the season started.
