Achalasia is a rare esophageal disorder that affects the nerves and muscles of the esophagus, in which the muscle does not relax properly. Making it difficult for food and liquid to pass into the stomach. We will discuss the symptoms your patient might present with such as dysphagia, regurgitation of undigested food, chest pain, and heartburn. Next, will be how achalasia will be diagnosed and the treatments that are available, depending on the type of achalasia.
