Description

DJ Vlad joins us for our last episode in our Los Angeles Run. DJ Vlad is the owner of one of the longest and successful independent hip hop media platform currently, Vlad TV.  Rarely seen ever on camera, it is a honor to have him along with Akademiks talking about the media game, his come up and how independent media outlets like Akademiks and Vlad TV are now outperforming and essentially running the game when it comes to music and content creation in hip hop. Vlad speaks on how he focused on growing a interview catalog that he knew would be valuable someday. Vlad talks about Hip Hop's victim mentality where there is a inherent need to blame someone else for your own actions. He also talks about how as things have changed and outlets have become obsolete, he's thought about purchasing XXL Magazine. DJ Vlad addresses people trying to say he's the police, breaks down the Casanova interview and the allegations that he was mentioned in his case. He recaps his come up and talks about the infamous Ransom / Joe Budden beef that the hip hop world was shocked to see documented on his platform. He goes into discussing Lil B, growing and figuring out a business model and also breaking down some of 'life story' style interviews he has of many people who either never had many interviews or who never told their story on other platforms. We talk accountability and also artists being upset with the media rather than their own actions at times. Vlad also speaks about his issue with Soulja Boy and in the infamous interview with the guys who were in a shootout with Soulja Boy. Also he discusses the interview with No Plug, He also talks about 6ix9ine and how he's had a change of tune in terms of offering his platform to him. He admits that 6ix9ine triggered him with certain actions that caused him to have a particular reaction. DJ Vlad goes on to expose the jeweler who also finessed Lil Baby after shady business dealings with that individual in the past. Vlad also gives a epic story of how Drake had his homeboys try to press Vlad about him allowing others a platform to criticize him.
