We’re beginning a month of stories from artists that are going to be performing at the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena on May 20th. This week, we’re thrilled to have Jon King on the podcast, the singer and songwriter of the band Gang of Four. Gang of Four were one of the most influential of the post-punk bands. Their music has been cited by artists like REM, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Nirvana as major influences. More recently, you can hear echoes of their sound in bands like Franz Ferdinand, Bloc Party, and so many others.
