Description

Talofa,  Ma’lelei’i, Bula and welcome to Season 4 Episode 61 of Breakfast Bites,  by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika Peoples sports on a beautiful  sunny and bright Friday morning 03 March 2023, coming to you from  paradise on the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean! In  Super Rugby Pacific Super Round: Tonight 7pm Crusaders-Highlanders,  9.10pm Rebels-Hurricanes, Saturday 6.05pm Moana Pasifika-Chiefs and the  big one, Fijian Drua-Waratahs, Sunday 3pm Blues-Brumbies and 5.30pm  Force-Reds. All games played at AAMI Park in Melbourne and times shown  are Fiji local time. In rugby league – Storm  superstar Cameron Munster suffered a compound dislocation to his finger  but remarkably returned to the field to orchestrate a thrilling 16-12  golden-point win over the Eels after Harry Grant darted out of  dummy-half three minutes into extra time for the match-winning try. The  Storm hasn’t lost an opening game since Craig Bellamy took over as  Coach in 2003 and he has only missed finals once in two decades - in  2010 following their salary cap scandal. The 63-year-old revealed on FOX  this week that 2023 would almost certainly be his final season. In  football – Southampton has been sensationally dumped out of the FA Cup  by League Two outfit Grimsby Town, with the visitors stealing a 2-1 win  to book their quarterfinal. While  at the other end of the Premier League table, Arsenal moved five points  clear at the top with a 4-0 rout of Everton and Liverpool moved into  the top six with goals from Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah deepening  Wolves’ relegation fears after a 2-0 loss at Anfield. In Sportsbiz – Formula  1 teams are agitating for a massive increase to the US$200Million  joining fee for new entrants after the FIA opened expressions of  interest to join the grid. According  to Autosport, the 10 current F1 teams want to at least triple that  figure to US$600M, with some pushing for an even higher figure still. As  part of the commercial agreement with F1, the US$200M joining fee is  distributed evenly among the existing teams to compensate them for  having to split the prize pot with an 11th constructor. In boxing – Jake  “the Fake” Paul is claiming that his fight against Tommy Fury may be  the biggest boxing match of 2023 after it received over half a million  pay-per-view buys. The bitter rivals finally fought in Saudi Arabia on  Sunday, and it was Fury who earned the bragging rights as he won via  split decision. Yeah Jake-the-Fake, what are the real pay-per-view numbers?
