Description
Most people think that you want to become a digital nomad you'll need to trade some of your income for "the privilege" of traveling.
And the idea of moving backwards professionally is terrifying for several reasons. You get comfortable with your standard of living, you have bills and responsibilities to cover, and it just doesn't feel like forward progress when you're giving up income.
And these are the most common reasons people who have established long-term careers never pull the trigger on becoming a digital nomad.
Fortunately, these fears aren't based in reality. From what we see, employees don't sacrifice income when becoming digital nomads. Further, we see a lot of people transfer their existing skillset to new companies while making more money.
In this episode, Jeff interviews Marisa (career coach) on practical steps and mindset exercises to take as first steps to getting that job that lets you travel without sacrificing your income.
It's worth noting that the work that goes into landing a new job is substantial. In order to maximize your odds of getting interviews, it requires hours of work (usually 10-20 per week). Beach Commute is helping people become digital nomads by doing that hard work for you. That includes helping write your cover letters, resume, sourcing jobs, applying for jobs, and getting you informational interviews.
