The Boston Bruins signed forward Danton Heinen to a professional tryout offer on Tuesday.
Heinen was traded to the Anaheim Ducks for Nick Ritchie a few years ago, and returns to the Bruins after a couple seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
He's not guaranteed to make the team, though, and will battle with Alex Chiasson (also on a PTO) and other forwards like Jesper Boqvist, Milan Lucic, Jakub Lauko, Patrick Brown and potential AHL graduates for a spot on the opening night roster.
