Federal marijuana restrictions may soon be easing. The Department of Health and Human Services signaled this on Wednesday, issuing a new recommendation to reclassify the drug in the lower-risk category of Schedule III rather than its current status as a Schedule I drug. This move follows the political and social trend of legalization we have seen throughout the country in the past decade, with 23 states legalizing the drug for recreational use.
