Hynek Martinec is a figurative painter based in South London. His paintings are inspired by Old Masters and/or photographs, which link the past with the future, using modern technologies.In this episode he talks about his 2015 museum show at the National Museum in Prague, and how working with an institution differs from working with commercial galleries.He discusses the immersive research and development period that goes along with producing each new body of work. He spends 3-4 years going deep into the subjects and sources which result in his large paintings and rarely works towards deadlines.
