Description

Bo and the crew talk about the Barstool deal with Penn Gaming, Greg Sankey's relationship with other commissioners, and the biggest news from the Big 10 in the third hour of the show live in the BankPlus Studio. Bo breaks down the acquisition of Barstool Sports by president Dave Portnoy from Penn Gaming and how the big deal will affect sports betting in the future. The guys talk about how Penn gaming wasn't able to capture the sports betting market through their deal with Barstool and how a deal with ESPN encouraged Penn to cut ties with Barstool. The guys listen to audio from Greg Sankey about his relationship with former Big 10 commissioner Kevin Warren and his relationships with current commissioners. Bo talks about the biggest mistake the Big 10 has made and something Ole Miss and Mississippi State should never focus on adding: more sports. The guys talk about how most of the other sports don't bring in revenue for the school and they take away from operation costs. College football insider Dan Wetzel joins the show on the Farm Bureau guest line talking about the Pac 12's implosion, Jim Harbaugh as a staple, and Kirby Smart passing Nick Saban live in the BankPlus Studio. Bo asks Dan if he was surprised that the Pac 12 couldn't get a deal done soon enough and Dan talks about how his surprise surrounds the Big 10 reaching a deal so soon. Dan talks about how the Pac 12 implosion could have been avoided 15 to 20 years ago and now the sport is run by the TV networks. Bo asks Dan about his thoughts surrounding the technical death of the Rose Bowl and Dan mentions how the bowl game has never been the same since the implementation of the BCS system. Dan starts to talk about Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and how he is coming off back-to-back wins over Ohio State after years of dominance by the buckeyes. Dan talks about Harbaugh as a personality and his tendencies as a coach stemming from who he was as a player in college and in the NFL. Dan mentions that coach Harbaugh used to pick fights with the biggest names in the NFL and that he isn't surprised the coaching veteran continues to do so. Bo asks Dan about the continuous conversations that surround Harbaugh leaving Michigan and going to the NFL every year and Dan talks about how the head coach handles the rumors. Dan mentions Harbaugh openly talking about interviewing for the Vikings head coach job in 2021 and Michigan fans not starting a riot over it because as long as they beat Ohio State then everything is okay. Dan speaks on the difference between the level of talent at Michigan and Ohio State and how a Michigan head coach can do no wrong after beating the buckeyes. Bo and Dan talk about Kirby Smart overtaking Nick Saban at the top of the pack in the SEC and how this is the first time in recent memory that Nick Saban has been behind another SEC team for consecutive years.
