Description

When was the last time you noticed the love in your life?   In this episode of The Darin Olien Show, I chat with Torrey DeVitto about the importance of keeping our focus on love. And by love, we don’t mean a significant other- we’re talking about the only feeling that is real in this human experience of ours.  We’re not meant to be in these individual bodies - we are all part of one big thing. And love is what brings us back to feeling connected to this big thing.   Torrey also explains how Nature is a great way to explore what it is us humans go through. If you think of the cycles we go through in our human experience, nature goes through almost the same ones. And it’s true for the animals and for the flora. Thus why nature is a great place to explore when we are experiencing a difficult time in our lives.    Torrey DeVitto is an actress, advocate, philanthropist, and producer. She is best known for her six season run on the NBC drama, "Chicago Med" playing Natalie Manning, the 'girl next door' and a doctor in the ER Pediatrics division. Outside of her acting work, Torrey's mission is to grant access and bring knowledge of wellness and philanthropy to as many people as possible.   What we discuss:   05:51: What is the hardest part of Torrey’s career? 11:14: Why did Torrey get into hospice work? 15:17: How to look at life through the lens of death? 23:34: What does Torrey do to cultivate her practice? 31:55: What are the things that throw off Torrey the most?   Key takeaways:   Nature is a great way to explore what it is us humans go through. If you think of the cycles we go through in our human experience, nature goes through almost the same ones. And it’s true for the animals and for the flora. Thus why nature is a great place to explore when we are experiencing a difficult time in our lives. When you really focus on it, you see how us and nature are all one.    The only thing that is REAL is love. Everything else is an illusion and doesn’t exist. Nothing real can be threatened and nothing unreal really exists. So when you feel like you are out of source, remind yourself the whole concept of how we’re not meant to be in these individual bodies and we are all part of one big thing.    If you look at life through the lens of death, you may come to realize that is actually a celebration of life. However, this is only the case if you allow yourself to live a life worth celebrating. To do this, you must live a life where you are connected to source and living in harmony with nature.    Find more from Darin:   Website: https://darinolien.com/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/Darinolien/ Book: https://darinolien.com/fatal-conveniences-book/ Down to Earth: https://darinolien.com/down-to-earth/   Find more from Torrey:   Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/torreydevitto/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/torreydevitto?lang=en     Thank you to our sponsors!   Truth Treatments: Go to https://www.truthtreatments.com/ and use code DARIN10 at checkout for 10% off.   Methodology: Check out  www.gomethodology.com and use the code DARIN to get 10% off the first week (offer valid for first-time customers only).  Therasage: Go to www.therasage.com  and use code DARIN at checkout for 15% off.
