Description

Debbie Mueller is a self professed late-bloomer who is making art her second career. When she is not painting, Debbie is an OB GYN physician and surgeon who considers herself an accidental artist. As a New Englander, Debbie went to medical school in Connecticut and later settled in New Hampshire with her husband and children. Her mother was a hobby painter and she grew up with musical influences, which extended to an interest in dancing. But aside from regular creative outlets as a child she had no aspirations to paint. It was a rainy day on a family vacation that was to change her outlook when her mother encouraged her to spend some time painting. It was the feeling that it gave her that proved her motive and inspiration to continue. Debbie has spent time studying with a number of artists including Peggy Kroll Roberts, Anne Blair Brown, Sarah Sedwick and Julie Davis. She began exhibiting in 2016 and has since shown her work extensively in New England and beyond. Debbie has won numerous awards from Art Guilds to Best in Show and Plein Air Festivals. She is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, American Impressionist Society and National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. This year Debbie has a full schedule of traveling for workshops, exhibitions and plein-air tours. What does Debbie listen to when she paints?‘For the most part, I enjoy the quiet. Or I ask Siri to play music from the 70s.’ Host: Chris StaffordProduced by Hollowell StudiosFollow @theaartpodcast on InstagramEmail: hollowellstudios@gmail.com
