Description
David Viradhamma Creighton is a senior member of the Triratna Buddhist Order and on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Buddhist Center. He has been a practicing Buddhist for over 32 years and was ordained in Bhaja, India, in 1994. His experience includes political activism in the environmental and Central American solidarity movements. For the last seven years he has been traveling regularly to India where he works closely with the Dalit (formerly “untouchable”) Buddhists who see the dharma as a means of both personal development and social liberation. In India he leads study retreats, speaks at public meetings, and teaches at a training center for young Buddhist social activists in Nagpur. He is the Director of DharmaJiva, a non-profit organization working to publicize the Buddhist Renaissance in India. Viradhamma will share pictures and stories about social and dharma projects in India.
