West Virginia transfer Joe Toussaint and Rutgers transfer Paul Mulcahy both announced their new destinations on Independence Day. Toussaint chose Texas Tech over Kansas State and Pittsburgh while Mulcahy chose Washington over schools like Xavier and Notre Dame. The prevailing thought was that Toussaint would choose Kansas State and Jerome Tang, so the Red Raider selection came as a bit of a surprise.

In other news, the Division I Council has proposed changing the transfer portal window from its current length of 60 days down to 30 days due to 60 being unnecessarily long. Host Isaac Schade hopes that the NCAA will both adopt the change AND adjust the starting day from the Monday after Selection Sunday to some point in the wake of the National Championship game.
