It was a busy Monday for the Boston Bruins.
It began with the trade of Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno's negotiating rights to the Chicago Blackhawks for restricted free agent defensemen Alec Regula and Ian Mitchell.
The Bruins needed to shed some salary cap space, and while the expectation is they'll circle back on trying to sign Tyler Bertuzzi, there's still a lot of work to be done with 9 empty roster spots and $11M in available space.
Boston was also well represented at the NHL awards, with Patrice Bergeron, Linus Ullmark, and Jim Montgomery taking home major hardware.
