Description
Imagine that you’re a young, black man being raised by your single mom outside Dallas Texas. Can you visualize being so inspired by your tight-knit community, that at age eleven you decide that one day you’d like to become a leader, maybe even a pastor at your church?
Major Williams, devoted husband, father of three and former marketing whiz kid, grew up respecting his elders, revering God and voting, like his family: a straight democratic ticket.
But what if one day, you realized that your morals and principals were more inline with conservative values than the democratic ones you’d been taught to embrace? Would you keep quiet about your beliefs so that you wouldn’t be ostracized by your family, friends and other Black and Brown people? Or would you decide to throw your hat in the ring and run for office, claiming your new party in what may be the most politically charged election-year of our lives?
