Show business can be a cold business, but what if you were one of the lucky few who made it, I mean really made it? You booked movie after movie and series after series, had a loving husband and three beautiful children. Some people would say you had it all, right?
Lisa Vidal, star and co-star of shows such as New York Undercover, Third Watch and Being Mary Jane, has a reputation for being a consummate professional, handling with ease, whatever comes her way. But when the changes in their oldest son’s behavior became too conspicuous to overlook, Lisa and her husband Jay, found themselves facing something for which no one can ever be fully prepared.
What would you do if you were expected on set, but your first born son was grappling with an addiction, one so intense that it threatened his life on a daily basis? Would you put your career on pause in order to be on-call for your son, hoping that he decides to get the help that he needs? Or would you continue to be the professional and show up at work every day, knowing that any moment you could get the call that every parent dreads?
