Workforce experts and employers often suggest that the millennial generation is responsible for sparking the job-hopping trend. A 2018 Deloitte survey1 found only 28% of millennials plan to stay with their companies for more than 5 yr. From an employee’s perspective, a strong case can be made for job-hopping. In a good job market, workers—especially younger generations—often can find better opportunities and make bigger salary jumps by changing companies.
