Description
Issue Box Theatre was formed out of the combination of art and theatre concepts, therapeutic techniques, and a passion for social justice advocacy. For 5 years, IBT has created performances and contributed to community education with the goal of promoting healing and support to marginalized populations within various communities. IBT aims to not just bring awareness, but rather has made it a constant priority to be mindful about ways to bring true change by listening to the needs of those who are marginalized. IBT is committed to using their platform to amplify the voices of those who feel silenced, provide access to resources, and to facilitate an environment that creates pathways for change. In the past IBT has collaborated with individuals recovering from trafficking, those overcoming addiction, individuals with disabilities, a variety of mental health organizations, and LGBTQ+ organizations while also donating proceeds of shows and projects to improve resources to marginalized groups.
