The Texas Longhorns Football Team will be headed to the Southeastern Conference in 2024, but there is a big topic of discussion that needs to be resolved prior to their arrival: The 8 or 9 game conference schedule. The 8 game conference schedule would likely result in Texas playing Oklahoma every year, and then 7 rotating conference opponents (including A&M) that Texas would play varyingly. The 9 game conference schedule would likely have Texas playing Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Arkansas every year, with 6 rotating conference opponents in the SEC. It seems at the moment that the schools (with a vote) seem to be split in terms of how they want to move forward. There is also the fact that  @espn  is not contractually obligated to offer the SEC more money for an additional conference game, while the SEC doesn't feel there is much incentive to add a game without increased television revenue.
