Description

Federal and state policies are reshaping how we move people and goods, while also helping to reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants caused by cars and trucks. The movement to electrify vehicles is gaining momentum thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and State policies. In addition, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s recently released proposal for light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicle tailpipe standards could be game-changers for long-term transportation transformation. But what do all these moving parts mean for the average consumer and the auto industry? Host Sara Baldwin speaks with national clean transportation experts, Thomas Boylan of the Zero Emission Transportation Association, and Tricia DelloIacono with CALSTART to discuss the state of the US EV market, exciting developments in the domestic supply chain, what more is needed to ensure a smooth transition.  Guest Bios Thomas Boylan, Regulatory Director, Zero Emission Transportation Association (ZETA) joined ZETA after nearly 7 years at the US EPA, working with the Office of Transportation and Air Quality and the Office of Congressional Affairs. He also helped facilitate EPA’s engagements with Congress during passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) of 2021 and the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022.
