Description
This episode content briefly addresses sensitive content, discretion is advised.
In this episode, we talked about the deconstruction of myths, particularly, super-hero myths. We defined deconstruction as the act of breaking something down into its separate parts in order to understand its meaning, especially when this is different from how it was previously understood, but also as an on-going transformation process which can be, as Derrida claimed, both destructive and transformative. From Superman to Plato's Republic, and then to The Watchmen and The Boys, we analyze what both philosophy and pop culture have to say about deconstructing myths and our own personal view on deconstructing the super-hero narrative.
