Matthew PrutsmanMatthew worked in operations in various university libraries in Virginia and California from 2000 until 2022. Now he runs 2 Airbnbs in Guadalajara, Mexico with his husband. He was born and raised in rural Virginia, moved to California in 2006, and then to Mexico in 2020. He attended the University of Virginia where he received a degree in urban planning. Matthew currently lives in Guadalajara, Mexico with his husband of 7 years, 3 (or 4) dogs, 4 birds, various fish, and a turtle named Angela. He chose to live in Guadalajara for the quality of life, queer culture, and friendliness of people. He is an avid gardener, self-taught chef, and puzzle fanatic.Adam LopezAdam was born in Los Ángeles, California, and studied fine arts at the San Francisco Art Institute. He lived many years in SF and NYC and returned to LA in his 30s where he met Matthew.  Adam worked in Hollywood for many years in production and sold handmade mid-century furniture online.  Currently, he runs an e-commerce shop where he sells Mexican handicrafts worldwide. Adam and Matthew formed an art collective in 2020 that brings art to local children of the community and they also hold art shows and cultural events in one of their Airbnbs. Guadalajara is the capital city of the state of Jalisco in Mexico.With a population of over 1.5 million people, the metro is 5.5 million it is the second most populous city in Mexico.Guadalajara is known for its rich cultural heritage, including mariachi music, and tequila.The city is also home to several universities and has a thriving technology industry.Guadalajara has a warm, semi-arid climate with an average temperature of around 22°C (72°F) throughout the year.The city has a vibrant LGBT+ community, with several gay bars, clubs, and events taking place throughout the year.The annual Guadalajara Pride Parade takes place in June and attracts thousands of participants and visitors from all over Mexico and beyond.Guadalajara has been recognized as one of the most gay-friendly cities in Mexico, and the country as a whole is becoming increasingly accepting of LGBT+ people and their rights.Support the showIf you enjoy these podcasts, please make a donation by clicking the coffee cup on any page of our website www.wheredogaysretire.com.
